Summer School

The O'Carolan Summer School in traditional Irish Music, Singing, Set Dancing and Sean Nós Dancing precedes the Festival from July 30th to Aug 4th. There are daily Tutorials, Workshops & Lectures.

The Summer School now offers a very comprehensive range of tuition in instrumental music, traditional singing and dance.

Ireland's top musicians are already booked as teachers for the various classes.

Fees

Classes daily from 9.00am - Fee Adults euro60 for week. This fee includes classes / workshops and lectures - Ceili and Concert not included.

  • 9.30am - 1pm: Classes
  • 4.30pm: Sean Nós Dancing Class. Tutor Padraig O'Hoibicín

Tuesday July 29th

  • 10am - 1pm: Classes
  • 2.30pm: Lecture
  • 3.30pm: Sean Nós Dancing Class. Tutor Padraig O'Hoibicín
  • 9.00pm: Céili with O'Carolan Country Céili Band

    Under 16 yrs Tin Whistle Competition for Trophy
    Under 16 yrs Fiddle Competition for Michael Cullen Perpetual Cup, presented by the Purcell Family, Crossna
    Under 18 yrs Flute & Tin Whistle Competition for Packie Bruen Perpetual Cup, donated by George Bruen
    Ballad Competition (open) for Josie McDermott Perpetual Cup, donated by the late Josie MacDermott. Two songs of competitor's own choice.
  • 4.30pm: Sean Nós Dancing Class. Tutor Padraig O'Hoibicín
