Editorial from Summer 1997 Edition

Dear Friends,

I love the smell of sawdust on a sunny morning, and it's all the more enticing when the wood's to be made into harps. We had a fascinating trip to the Scottish highlands to visit a harp making enter-prise in May. I hope you enjoy reading about our impressions, and perhaps some of you might want to tell us about other harp related businesses that have impressed you.

We bring you concrete advice from Louisa Maxwell on how to establish yourself as a wedding musician, a potentially lucrative field for someone aiming for a career as a harper and a source of very useful experience.

And Karen Marshalsay talks to Corrina Hewat and David Milligan of Bachue Cafe. Corrina is making a name for herself in Europe very fast indeed and if you haven't yet heard her perform, that's a pleasure you don't want to defer too long.

I hope you find this issue full of interest and inspiration. If you don't, that's our fault, so tell us, please! We love to hear from you.

Alison and Aidan
