Editorial from Spring 1997 Edition Dear Readers, We've set ourselves an enormous challenge. To publish four editions of Sounding Strings a year; at regular intervals. New readers may think we've been doing that all along! But the many subscribers and friends who've supported us since we launched four years ago, have often waited patiently and for a very long time for the latest edition. Now we have an opportunity to improve considerably on our up-to-now very part time status, and we're hugely optimistic about the future. We have some long term plans that we'll let you in on gradually. In return perhaps all you artists, organisers, branch secretaries and record producers out there could keep us up to date with your news - we won't know about it unless you tell us. It's so long since the last edition we've decided to make a virtue of it. There's something to be said, perhaps, for carrying reports about last year's events at a time when many of you will be doing serious planning for the summer. Let us know if you find that useful. It certainly reminded us of happy summer days, lovely music and a lot of laughter. Kindest regards Alison and Aidan |
