on Lake Constance 25 - 28 May 2007 Rorschach, Switzerland Invitation to the 14th Annual Festival of Celtic Music and Celtic culture on Lake Constance Celtic Music Fourteen years ago, I organised, for the first time, a festival of Celtic music and culture in Rorschach with the purpose of giving all friends of Celtic culture a platform in Switzerland to share experiences with like-minded people. My concern was to give professionals and amateurs, members of all age groups and nationalities the opportunity to make music, dance, listen and exchange experiences. The Celtic Harp The Celtic Harp is for me, like a language, a possibility to express myself and to communicate with other people. It is very important for me to share my enthusiasm with many people. The Celtic Harp is an instrument in its own right. The size, guage, tension and spacing of the strings are different from the other types of harps. This asks for a playing technique of its own and a special repertoire. There are studies of Celtic harp at the academies of Music and Drama in the Celtic countries Ireland, Scotland and Brittany. |
